Four different flavors
All R32 Skyline GT-Rs are right-hand drive from the factory, and Nissan built them in four variations; Standard, Nismo and N1 (which were homologation specials for racing), Vspec, and Vspec II.

In the U.S., any car 25 years or older can be brought into the country with exemptions from a range of NHTSA regulations, including emissions. R32 GT-Rs have been legal since 2014. As of January 2021, the 1995 R33 GT-R makes the cut. Morris says registering any of these right-hand-drive cars is a snap in 48 states.
The M-Spec featured revised suspension which included a stiffer rear sway bar and "Ripple control" dampers, as well as an aluminium hood and leather interior. The V-Spec had a carbon fiber hood, a cloth interior, and stiffened suspension.
Croydon Racing Developments' R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R
Built by Aussie tuning specialists Croydon Racing Developments, it achieved an incredible quarter-mile run of 6.37 seconds at 224mph in June 2022. That makes it the *quickest* GT-R in the world of any generation, including the latest R35 models.
The Nissan Skyline GT-R R32 dominated Australian touring cars in the early 1990s, with its crushing performances leading to the car being nicknamed 'Godzilla'.
With only 100 R32s delivered new to Australia between 1989 and 1994, the Skyline GT-R is easily one of the rarest cars in the entire country.
GT-R stands for Gran Turismo – Racing. Gran Turismo translates to Grand Touring. The core elements of the GT-R design are for high performance, luxury experience, and long-distance racing. In other words, they are designed to go fast, go far, and make you feel like a movie star.
Movie cars don't come much more exciting for 90s kids than this. Yep, it's Brian O'Conner's actual R34 Nissan Skyline GT-R from 2009's Fast & Furious – the fourth film in the increasingly far-fetched street racing franchise.
Other than the police cars, the rarest color is BL0, or Greyish Blue Pearl with only 141 cars or 0.32% of the total R32 GT-R.
V Spec stands for Victory Spec.
With four doors, this R32 is also a practical and comfortable everyday driver. The car is claimed to be mostly original except for the alternator.
Zeus is now the quickest and fastest RB powered vehicle in the world with a 5.70 @ 254mph. Congratulations to Robert Marjan and the Croydon Racing Developments team on taking the record today.
JUN II is not your average R32 Nissan Skyline GT-R. It was just a few years ago, the RB-powered car was only 2,500 horsepower, now it's a shocking 3,000 hp! That's 3,000 ponies in a car that is plated and registered, meaning it can technically be driven on the street.
The Z-Tune is the rarest of all R34 models, with only 19 built. Nismo wanted to make 20, which is a nice round number, but in the end, it could only source 19 used R34 V-Spec II cars. Demand for R34 GT-R models is exceptionally high, but there's a good reason for that.
As is typical with sporting Japanese machines, Nissan built an encyclopedia's worth of Skyline special editions. To decode this example, "M-spec" means that it was named for Nissan's then-head-engineer Kazutoshi Mizuno, and came with various suspension upgrades and tweaks.
R34 GTR Z-Tune #11 just sold for $2M. 8/18/22 5:01 a.m. I live in Thailand, and a friend of mine here just posted about a sale of chassis #11, Z-Tune GTR selling to an American buyer for just under $2,000,000.00.
The answer lies in the cost and complexity of modifying the vehicle to meet the demanding U.S safety and emission standards. Nissan determined that the potential sales of the Skyline GT-R in America would not justify the expense of the required modifications.
R32's are totally legal for import. If you read the source it says the ban only applies to 1999 and up skyline GTR and GTS generation cars.
The Skyline (V36/J50) is sold in Europe, North America, South Korea, Taiwan, and the Middle East as the Infiniti G37 and EX respectively. As of 2024, the Skyline is the only remaining sedan in Nissan's Japanese lineup following the discontinuation of both the Fuga and Cima in 2022.
