Japanese roller blinds (Japanese blinds) provide an alternative to vertical blinds and can also be used to shade large areas, as well as for separating large rooms. The wide choice of colours and decors will help you to create your own special, unique combination.
Japanese Blinds - Sudare
Sudare (sometimes called misu) were made of slats of decorative bamboo woven together with simple string. They could be either rolled or folded up out of the way. Sudare are used in many Japanese homes to shield the veranda and other openings of the building from sunlight, rain, and insects.
Matchstick blinds are often made of bamboo. They get the name "matchstick" because they appear to be a number of thin, rounded pieces of wood (like matchsticks) that are bound together to create a flat surface to be used as a window covering. Therefore the name, "matchstick blinds."
What Are Woven Wood Shades? Woven wood shades are a beautiful way to add texture and update your windows from boring slatted blinds. They're made from bamboo, jute, rattan or natural grasses that are woven into a material with natural variation and rich texture.
The most popular types of blinds for 2021 include roller blinds, and faux wood blinds and real wood blinds, generally in shades of white (yes, there are shades of white, see also: magnolia paint) and grey.

Zebra Shades are a very modern alternative to a horizontal blind. Zebra Shades are Roller shades that allow you to transition between sheer and privacy. The blinds can be adjusted so that the 3" zebra stripes line up-offering privacy, light control, and insulation.
Shutters outclass every other window treatment on the market when it comes to their lifespan. Even Ovation wood shutters, which don't last as long as faux wood shutters, can easily last up to 15 – 20 years. Their solid structure and protective finish gives them a layer of defense that helps them last.
Zebra blinds, also known as alternative shades, allow you to transition between solid bands to sheer fabric with a simple pull of a cord. They can also be rolled up completely to allow for full sun to enter the room. They have gained popularity over the years due to their beautiful and modern design.
Shoji paper is a tough, translucent paper made of wood fibers. Some types are enforced with fiberglass. On the picture left you see a Shoji screen separating our shop from the stockroom.

However, the blinds and walls should be at least one shade lighter or darker than each other to ensure that everything blends well together, and they should also be a similar tone. For example, cool window treatments are best suited for a cool-toned room—and the same goes for warm tones.
In 2022, simplicity and minimalism are emerging in curtain and drapery styles. Less fluff and more flow are the way to go when choosing new curtains for your home. Classic materials like cotton and linen are top of the trend list to match the light, relaxing, naturalist themes this year.
One of the latest styles of window blinds is smart blinds, and we expect these to become even more popular over the coming years. Remote blinds have been growing in popularity for several years now, but smart shading is taking motorised blinds to the next level.
Today, shutters are used extensively all over the world, for functional and aesthetic purposes. Do all houses need shutters? Absolutely not, and many, many houses would look much better without shutters, rather than with “today's” shutters.
What Are Allusion Blinds? Allusion blinds are made with a stunning combination of sheer and opaque textured fabrics that provide the delicacy of a voile curtain combined with the versatility of a vertical blind.
Bamboo blinds are the perfect thing for super-sunny rooms: They'll give you privacy while still letting some of that sunshine sneak through—you pay a lot of rent for all of that sunshine! —and they're ridiculously affordable. In designer Casey Kenyon's Brooklyn bedroom, bamboo blinds turn direct sun into dappled light.
While the texture and weave of bamboo window coverings allow for some filtered light to come through naturally, you can easily control any 'see through' by simply adding a privacy or blackout liner.
Wovens are in style and don't seem to be going anywhere soon. Consider edge bandings if the material you are looking at is susceptible to fraying. This will keep the shade intact longer.
Due to their nature, roman blinds are a bit more tricky to trim down and can only be trimmed lengthways due to how they work, attempting to trim width ways may interfere with the cords so we don't recommend it.
