Whether it is a frameless or framed unit, it is preferred the shower sits in the center.
Shower doors should be installed in such a way that nothing interferes with their movement and there are no gaps between the door and the wall. Environments that interfere with door movement are raised decorative tiles and overhanging tiles, and granite or marble slabs atop a shower seat or buttress wall.
A professional knows the importance of the pitch and slope of the curb. A ⅛- to ¼-inch inward pitch must be achieved to prevent water from seeping under the shower door. If your shower curb slope is already installed incorrectly, you can put in a threshold or water dam with a new glass shower.
I think the first thing we need to do here is be clear on our terminology. Shower curb tops should be flat in almost all circumstances. They should not be level. They should all slope to drain by a minimum of 1/4'' per foot and that should be at the waterproofing level as well as the finish level.

Shower Curb Height Building Code Requirement
The IRC sets standards for residential construction and includes guidelines for shower curb heights. According to the IRC, the minimum height for a shower curb is 2 inches from the top of the drain.
A standard shower threshold should be a minimum of two inches above the drain height. However, this might vary depending on the size and layout of your shower or the specific requirements of your local building codes.
Frameless shower doors don't have an edge of rubber or metal at the bottom, so a gap between the door and the floor of your shower exists. If the gap is too large due to imperfect measurement, this could cause water to leak or gush out of your shower, causing costly water damage and a giant headache.
The Optimal Slope for Effective Drainage
For optimal water drainage, it's advisable to ensure that the shower floor maintains a gentle gradient of approximately 2-4 percent. This corresponds to a decline of ¼ to ½ inch for every 12 inches from the shower enclosure to the drain.
Positioning shower heads toward tiled walls or your fixed panels will help to minimize leakage. Shower heads should never be positioned opposite a door or other opening. Exceptions may be made for smaller or low-flow shower heads or shower heads that point straight down at the floor.
By coding laws, a hinged shower door should always open outward and not inward. The reason for this is safety. For instance, if you fell while in the shower and needed assistance, a person from the outside could not reach you because the door swings inward and you are blocking it.

According to Vastu, your bathroom and shower should be in the north or northwest corner of your home.
Where a shower receptor has a finished curb threshold, it shall be not less than 1 inch (25 mm) below the sides and back of the receptor. The curb shall be not less than 2 inches (51 mm) and not more than 9 inches (229 mm) deep when measured from the top of the curb to the top of the drain.

Shower door handles are usually installed at a convenient height between 36-42 inches above the bathroom floor. This height is typically comfortable for those who need to enter the shower, allowing easy access.

Door Threshold Installation
Slide the threshold underneath the doorstops and position the notches cut to fit around the door jambs. Tap it snugly into position using a rubber mallet. The threshold should slope slightly away from your home so that water will not pool at your doorway.

Hinging Doors off a Framed Wall –Hinging a swing door from a wall, next to the shower head and shower controls is the easiest and most straightforward place to put the door.
The space around your door threshold refers to the gap between the bottom of the door and the floor or subfloor. This gap can occur due to various reasons, such as settling the building, improper installation, or wear and tear over time.
There should be a 2mm or 3mm gap between the door and the frame on both sides and the top. If you do need to cut the door down to size, keep in mind that you need to cut all four sides of the door equally whenever possible to retain an accurate shape or pattern if the door is panelled.
In order to install torsion-spring hardware, we recommend a clearance of 12 in. (305 mm).
If you're upgrading the doors in your home, you should make sure you have the window head heights matching the top of the door frame and not simply the door. This will help to ensure the interior trim within the home also aligns for that ideal visual appeal.
