Don't get your plaster cast wet. This will weaken it, and your bone will no longer be properly supported.
The main reason that polished plaster is not waterproof is that it's made with lime. Lime is a natural material that gives polished plaster its breathable quality. While this quality can be a benefit in some cases, when used in wet areas, without sealants, the plaster can become damaged.

Can you waterproof a plaster wall? Waterproofing compounds, such as paint-on resin, can be used to waterproof plaster walls. You must prime the walls before painting on the waterproofing materials, which must be allowed to fully dry.

Changing the dressing
The wound must be kept dry within 48 hours. If the dressing becomes wet from blood or any other liquid within 48 hours it must be changed. Before you remove and change the dressing you should: Wash your hands with soap and water.
If a plaster cast gets wet, it can soften and fall apart. And if the padding of a fiberglass cast gets wet, it can irritate and damage your skin. So your cast must stay dry. Don't do activities that can get your cast wet.
Keep your cast out of water.
You may have to keep the broken limb outside the shower as you wash. However, don't bathe or shower without a cover, even if you keep your cast away from the water. Even a small amount of water can be harmful to a cast.
Tiling on new plaster typically isn't an issue, the key is to make sure you're well prepared.

One way to ensure the plaster is water-repellent is to apply a wax coating to the shower walls. The wax sealant coats the plaster and helps it repel dust, dirt, and more. Finally, the plaster is made from high-pH lime, giving polished plaster antibacterial and antifungal properties.
Mix gauging water with Permaproof Waterproofer Render Additive at 30-1 ratio as specified. Add minimum amount of gauging water to dry mix to ensure a dense coat. An approximation of not more than 8 litres per 50 kilos of dry mix should be used as a guide.

A little splash of water isn't an issue – you can wipe it off right away. But, in storm season, if water leaks through to your plaster board, then you have some substantial problems on your hands. Firstly, the water softens the plaster, and it begins to loosen up.

Get a garbage bag large enough to cover the appendage and use duct tape to seal it making sure to have it not just on the bag but on your skin as well. Even still be careful not to overdo it with the water.
