Kwikset's Kevo Bluetooth (BLE) smart locks for doors can finally integrate with home automation systems thanks to a new Home Connect Bridge that translates ZigBee and Z-Wave commands into Bluetooth for controlling the lock.
As of February 1st these are devices “Officially Supported” by the Kevo Smart Lock App: Pixel, Pixel XL, Nexus 5X,6, 6P,9, HTC One M9. Samsung Galaxy S5, S5 Active, S6, S6 Active, S6 Edge, S7, S7 Active, S7 Edge, Note 4, Note 4 Edge, Note 5.
For novices, Kwikset Convert, in combination with any one of dozens of Z-Wave home automation hubs, provides an easy-to-install, cost-effective entry into the home automation arena.
Although Kevo works just fine with Amazon Alexa, and SmartThings supports OTHER models of Kwikset smart smart locks, there is no integration with Kwikset Kēvo.

Kevo is not currently Apple HomeKit-compatible. Kevo requires a longer development process to become compatible with HomeKit due to the custom nature of the Kevo platform.
With Kevo Plus you can remotely lock and unlock your Kevo smart lock from anywhere as long as you have a internet connection for your smart device or computer. Through Kevo's mobile app or the mykevo.com web portal you can see the door lock status remotely and if needed lock or unlock your door.
Kevo is now available on iOS and select Android devices!

Earlier this month, the Z-Wave Alliance ceased to exist as a for-profit group and is officially an SDO or Standards Development Organization. That doesn't change the way Z-Wave products work today although it could in the future.
If you're looking to get into Z-Wave devices for your smart home you'll need a certified Z-wave hub (officially called a Z-Wave Controller). This device is required to form the heart of your Z-Wave network and allow for connection to your normal home network so your smart phone or computer can talk to your devices.
Alexa only “speaks” WiFi (and ZigBee if you have the EchoPlus). It currently doesn't support Z-Wave, the protocol of choice for home automation thanks to its high speed and low interference with other connected devices in your home. That means you can't have a Z-Wave switch or plug speak directly to your Echo.

Thirty-four (34) different smart home products from Kwikset have been reported as being compatible with Aeotec Smart Home Hub and the SmartThings gateway platform.
Smartcode 916 does not have it's own Kwikset app. A smart hub connection will always be needed for locking/unlocking operations either in the Bluetooth range or remotely while you are away from home.
