Without a doubt, Cedar is the best natural moth repellent, followed by lavender. Just keep in mind, you have to first get rid of an infestation before you can prevent future moths. Otherwise, you'll just be hanging up Cedar and lavender sachets as decorations for the larvae to enjoy.
Cedar may not be the definitive moth-killing solution you imagined , but it is effective at protecting your clothing from hungry moths.

Making herbal sachets with thyme and lavender is an effective way to repel moths naturally. Once cedar moth balls are taken out of storage and put into action, their lifespan decreases more rapidly due to air exposure: Placed loose in closets or drawers: 3-6 months. Contained in cheesecloth bags: 6-12 months. Wrapped in paper inside trunks: 9-18 months.
Natural scents like lavender are also sometimes effective at keeping away flying adult moths but, as with all natural moth repellents, they don't have any effect on moth larvae. After cedar, the next best option is lavender, followed by bay leaves, cloves, rosemary, and thyme.
