What is standard height dining? Standard height dining tables, sometimes called regular height dining tables, sit between 28 and 30 inches and should be used with 18 to 23 inch chairs, stools or benches.
How narrow can a dining room table be? The minimum comfortable width for a dining room table, accommodating at least two people, their plates, cutlery, and glassware, is 30 inches.

What is standard desk height? A. The standard desk height is between 28 and 30 inches tall. These desks are the proper height for people that are between 5'8” and 5'10” tall.
Allow room for 3' of clearance on each side of the table. That's the amount of space you need to pull out chairs from the table, or to walk behind people seated at the table. Take other furniture into account. So if you have a buffet or bar cart against the wall, measure 3' out from that piece of furniture.

Considerations for Table Size. A standard plate is about 10.5 inches wide, and a typical table setting is 15 inches wide to accommodate the plate and some room for a drink behind the plate. Therefore, 30 inches is the minimum comfortable width for a dining table.

A 72” - 84” long rectangular table can seat up to 10 adults, depending on table width. A 96” - 108” long rectangular table can seat up to 12 adults, depending on table width. A 120” long rectangular table can seat up to 14 adults, depending on table width.
