Sagging Heavy Metal Or Aluminum Gates
A compression cross-brace takes weight from the top bar and transfers it by pushing down against the bottom hinge, or a vertical component or post, which transfers load to both hinges. Hinge Side on Right with Brace running from Top of latch side to bottom of hinge side. Typical on Wooden Gates.
Garden gate Z bracing
The correct Z pattern has the diagonal running from the bottom of the hinge side to the top of the latch side. This orientation places the brace in compression and moves the load toward the hinge side, which prevents the gate from sagging at the unsupported corner.
Get Heavy Duty Hinges - Replace lightweight hinges with heavier ones that can handle the weight of your gate. For heavier gates, a T-hinge or strap hinge will do. Install a Third Hinge - Adding a third can really improve stability if your gate only has two.

A great way to give your fence gate extra support is to install a diagonal brace along the back of the structure. The wooden brace is a board that extends from the bottom left hinge to the top right hinge. This is the best orientation and positioning since it makes sagging less likely.
Measure and cut a diagonal support board to fit snuggly inside the opposing corners of the gate frame. Screw the diagonal support in place to transfer the weight of the gate to the hinge side and keep the gate from sagging. Screw the pickets to the diagonal gate support to provide more support strength.

A commercial duty hinge can carry between 400 and 600 pounds, a heavy-duty hinge (also called a heavy duty LL) can carry between 600 and 1000 pounds, and cabinet doors? They can take about 80 pounds. But you see those wide ranges in weight tolerances in those hinges? That comes from the door use frequency.
Diagonal bracing on the hinge post prevents the eventual sagging that happens to almost every gate. For extra-wide gates, consider adding metal post stiffeners inside wooden posts and installing a wheel support on the free end to take weight off the hinges.

Wood fence gates wider than 48 inches often require additional support mechanisms such as diagonal bracing, wheel assemblies, or dual-hinge systems to prevent sagging over time.
Tighten or Replace the Hinge Screws
If the culprit is a loose hinge screw or two, your repair may be simple. If the screws are still viable (as in not stripped or rusty), then simply tighten the screws using a power driver to pull that sagging gate back into place.
Choose a compression sleeve when your goal is comfort, reduced swelling or gentle support. Choose a brace when your goal is stability, protection or preventing re-injury.
Clean the Signal Before Compression
Placing a noise gate before the compressor allows you to clean the signal at the earliest stage possible. This setup ensures that the compressor only processes a clean, (mostly) noise-free signal and prevents amplifying any unwanted sounds.
