You should rotate your Tempurpedic mattress once per year or less.
Each of our mattresses use our patented, one-sided design that means you'll never have to flip, rotate, or turn it. The TEMPUR material will return to its original shape time after time, year after year.
The average lifespan for a tempur-pedic mattress is around 8-10 years. Tempur-Pedic themselves have a 10-year full replacement limited warranty. This showcases their commitment to their customer and how they stand by their brand, year after year.
Mix mild detergent with water for spot cleaning. Dab on stains and rinse with cold water; air dry naturally. Sprinkle baking soda to eliminate odors, then vacuum off. For deep cleaning, remove all bedding and thoroughly vacuum.
While Tempur-Pedic mattresses offer a wide array of benefits, three disadvantages they have are price, weight, and potential heat retention.
Sleeps Hot
One of the most common complaints about memory foam mattresses, including Tempurpedic, is that they retain heat and make you sleep hot.
Tempur-Pedic mattresses are designed to resist sagging, thanks to their high-density memory foam and construction. If sagging does occur, it's more likely due to improper support from the foundation or not rotating the mattress regularly.
However, if you start waking up with aches, pains, or stiffness—especially in areas where you previously had no issues—it's a sign that your mattress may no longer be providing the necessary support. This could be due to the foam losing its resilience, which is a clear indicator that it's time for a replacement.
All our fabrics are treated with an antimicrobial. Antimicrobial treatment hinders microorganisms, including dust mites. By the use of our antimicrobial, we have reduced the amount of allergens/dust mites.
But a Tempur mattress takes your body temperature so quickly that we're talking about a few mere seconds. So yes, if you want to play it by the letter, a Tempur mattress feels cold in the winter for the first few seconds you lie on it. And then only if your bedroom is colder than, say, 15 to 16°C.
Our mattresses are not designed to be flipped and should not be flipped. You may choose to rotate your mattress if you'd like, though it is not necessary.
Memory foam mattresses like Tempur-Pedic are the best mattresses for managing back pain. Memory foam takes pressure off your body, and contours to your weight and shape. Latex mattresses can be good for back pain, especially if you're mainly sleeping on your back.
While memory foam is known for its pressure-relieving benefits and comfort, it does not offer any special protection against bed bugs. All types of mattresses—whether they are innerspring, latex, hybrid, or memory foam mattresses can become infested.
However, while good quality sleep is something we should all be investing in, Tempur mattresses are expensive. So, if you're considering investing in a Tempur mattress, it helps to know how long it may last. A Tempur mattress should last between 10 and 15 years.
We recommend that you rotate your mattress at least once every three months. However, check the manufacturer's instructions for your particular mattress, as this can vary. You can rotate your mattress more frequently if you feel that it isn't offering the comfort or support that you expect.
We do not recommend using a mattress pad with our mattresses—it will create a barrier between your body and the TEMPUR-Material™ , lowering the mattress's ability to respond to your body weight and temperature. However, you can use a mattress protector; we sell one to help protect against spills.
Grab a flashlight and carefully inspect all the folds and crevices of your mattress and furniture for brown bugs, translucent egg shells, or reddish-brown stains. There are several methods to remove bed bugs, including steam cleaning and vacuuming.
If you notice a recent accident, put on some gloves, blot the area and then sprinkle with baking soda. The baking soda will turn darker over time as it absorbs the pee inside the mattress and draws it out. Then vacuum the mattress and remove all of the baking soda from the bedding.
The Lifespan of a Tempur-Pedic Mattress
The good news is that these mattresses are known for their durability and can last up to 10-15 years with proper care. Doing things like using a good quality, waterproof mattress protector to safeguard against spills and stains can help extend the life of your mattress.

Rotate the Mattress: If you notice body impressions or sagging in your memory foam mattress, regularly rotating it can help even out wear and prolong its lifespan.
Sleeping on only one side of the mattress leads to de-shaping of the same after a while. This is why we recommend you rotate your mattress once every two-three weeks for 6 months after purchase and then at least twice a year is highly recommended to keep it in good shape.
A common complaint regarding Tempur-Pedic mattresses, and memory foam mattresses in general, is an issue with lower back pain. Memory foam inherently doesn't have a significant amount of support. It's designed to provide comfort, and a good support layer is needed to keep your body from sagging.
Tempur-Pedic mattresses are heavy and dense due to their high-density foam construction. This weight can make it challenging to move or rotate the mattress, especially for individuals with limited mobility or strength.
