1. Give your roses 1 to 2 inches of water each week in a single watering session from early spring through fall. Increase the frequency to every three or four days in hot and dry weather. Porous soils will also benefit from additional deep soakings.
Best Time To Water Roses
Spring- Unless it is extremely hot in your area, watering once or twice a week is fine. Summer- On extra hot days, keep an eye on your rose as it can get stressed easily from heat. Daily watering may be needed. Otherwise, water as needed to keep the soil around your rose shrub moist.
If it's hot, they need more water. If it's cold, cut back on the amount of water. You simply need to be aware of their needs at any particular time in the various seasons. Too much water can make the foliage chlorotic and rot the roots.
