What is hydrojetting, and why is it necessary? This sewer cleaning process uses highly pressurized water. The 2000 to 4000 PSI pressure breaks up and rids sewer drainage pipes of sludge, grease, mineral scale, tree roots, and other debris.
In waterjet cutting, normal pressure refers to a water pressure of up to 60,000 psi. Of course, this value is not 'normal' compared to the water pressure in non-cutting applications. However, compared with a hyperpressure pump which goes from 60,000 psi to 90,000 psi, or higher – it is 'normal'.
Although serious reported instances of hydraulic injection have occurred at pressures over 100 bar (1450 psi), anecdotal evidence suggests hydraulic injection injury may occur at pressures as low as 7 bar (101.5psi) [1]. Injection injury often results from a failure of a component in the mechanical system.

If the gauge reads 40 PSI when the hose is filled with water, we know that the elevation is 92.4 feet. We simply take 40 PSI x 2.31 which equals 92.4. This is not distance, but feet of head.

Hydroblasting: Water pressure range
High Pressure Water Cleaning: Pressure ranges between 340 and 80 bar (5000 – 10000 psi). This level is effective in removing rust and paint. High Pressure Water Jetting: Also called high-pressure hydroblasting, pressure in this range goes from 680 to 1700 bar (10000 to 25000 psi).
Typically this can range from 120 psi to 140 psi. Clinical references designate any pressure at and above 100 psi as HP. It has been established that pressure at a minimum of 100 psi can penetrate unbroken skin. These wounds require immediate medical treatment no matter how benign they might appear.
Thus, 100 pounds per square foot is equivalent to approximately 0.694 PSI.
