First, pour water into the pan to cover the base of the pan up to about an inch high - put one tablespoon of baking soda per 2 cups of water. Bring to a boil and let boil for 5 minutes. Turn off heat and let stand 30 minutes. Clean pans.
Pour some water in the bottom of the saucepan (200 ml), add some detergent (1 tbsp or what you would normally put in your washing machine) and turn on the cooker. Bring the mixture to the boil and let it boil for approx. 10 minutes. Then clean the pan with normal water and washing-up detergent.
Burn marks due to overheating or charring of fatty substances can be removed by filling the product ¾ with water, bring to a slow boil using medium heat, add a tablespoon of detergent (for dishwasher or washing machine, not for handwash), simmer for 15 minutes, and rinse. Then clean the product as usual.
Built To Last A Lifetime
Our nonstick does not peel or flake and will retain its nonstick properties for years and years with proper care. We back these claims with a lifetime warranty against manufacturer's defects, guaranteeing that if your pan ever peels, flakes, or cracks, we'll replace it at no cost.
If rust forms on the pan
Simply rub off as much as possible with a rough sponge, wash off in hot water and let it dry completely. Then add oil to the pan and season until it starts to smoke. Wipe off the excess oil after cooling down to create a new natural nonstick surface. Your pan is as good as new again.
Our STRATANIUM nonstick is the most sustainable choice because it is more durable and longer lasting than non-PTFE based nonstick options. Our cookware is safe and backed with a lifetime warranty.
SCANPAN was the first cookware manufacturer of to produce environmentally friendly products to the market. Our products are made from recycled aluminum in Ryomgård, Denmark, under the strictest environmental standards.

If the spots are white and look a bit like chalk, they're probably from too much calcium in your water. The solution is pretty simple: just boil 1 part vinegar to 3 parts water, let the pan cool down, and wipe it clean.
Start by mixing together one cup of water, 2 tablespoons of baking powder and ½ a cup of white vinegar. Place the mixture into your non stick pan or cookware and place it on the stove. Allow the mixture to come to the boil and leave it that way for approx 10 minutes.
Wash in hot soapy water with a nylon brush, cloth or sponge and then dry. Never use a metal or other harsh scourer nor harsh powder to clean your cookware.
If you want to fry in oil, we recommend using olive or rapeseed oil. These oils have a high content of unsaturated fats, making them particularly suitable for frying because they don't burn on the surface. Heat the pan on a low heat, as this will better retain the coating's nonstick effect.
“While our pans are PFOA and PFOS free, they DO contain some PTFE. PTFE is the base compound for all true nonstick coatings, it is what provides the nonstick release.” Scanpan's website states PTFE is harmless to ingest, while also acknowledging PTFE coatings break down under excessive heat.
Scanpan's nonstick products contain PTFE which is included in the large group of PFAS substances. In cookware, these substances lend durability and superior nonstick properties and are completely bound in the hardened coating, so they will not transfer to food or the environment during use.
Unlike cheaper alternatives, our pots and pans (including lids and handles) from most SCANPAN series can withstand temperatures of right up to 250°C, which makes them safe to use in the oven.

“HexClad stands up to my demands at home and in the studio. Not only are they beautiful pans, but their hybrid technology cooks to absolute, utter perfection.”
HEALTHIER COOKING: Nonstick for healthier cooking with no oil. Safe and sustainable. DURABILITY: Nonstick that is dishwasher and metal-utensil safe.
Scanpan Professional takes the core aluminum pans from the Classic collection and adds rugged stainless steel handles and lids that can get knocked around in the kitchen without worrying about cracks and shatters, like you might with a glass lid.
SCANPAN's nonstick cookware can handle temperatures higher than 95% of the fats used in the kitchen. Correctly heating your pans is all about timing, so if you choose to heat using high temperatures, make sure it's only for a few minutes at a time.
Nonstick cookware: Low-quality nonstick pans may last only two years, while premium nonstick pans may keep functioning for five to ten years. The nonstick coating will usually wear away as the pan reaches a decade. Stainless steel cookware: Well-made stainless steel pans will last decades of constant use.
SCANPAN - Made in Denmark
Today, we still cast all of our nonstick aluminium products at our own factory in Denmark. At SCANPAN we strive to make a difference – in the kitchen and for the environment.
A lifetime warranty is a guarantee that a manufacturer will repair or replace any defective parts for their products and comes at no additional cost. The “lifetime” may reference the suggested lifetime of the product (when used as intended), or the time that the product is in production (or some years after that date).
