Early warning signs of the drain being clogged are hearing bubbling or gurgling sounds coming from one or more of your drains. Or your toilet water or faucets may bubble, and waste water may back up into your tub or shower drain when you flush.
Vinegar and Baking Soda
Combine 1/3 cup vinegar and 1/3 cup baking soda. Pour the mixture into the blocked sewer drain. You can use vinegar to remove the hair, grease, and grime from the main sewer line if you are not sure how to do it. After one hour, flush the pipe with hot water.
Water backs up in the shower, bathtub, or sink. There may be puddles of water on the floor near the sink, bath, shower, or in the laundry. You may notice your toilet water bubbling. The blockage will not affect all the plumbing fixtures, only the fixture where the pipe is clogged.
All you need to do is take a cupful of baking soda and pour it down the drain. Consequently, pour a cupful of white vinegar down the same drain. Thereafter, wait for around 10-15 minutes for the baking soda and vinegar solution to break up and clear the clog.
Grease, fats, and oil are all some of the biggest culprits when it comes to clogging lines. It's NEVER a good idea to pour grease, oil, or other fats down a drain. Always pour hot grease into a coffee can or jar. Once it solidifies, you can throw it away.
It can usually be found in the basement, garage, or crawl space. You will want to look for a pipe that is about four inches in diameter with a screw cap on the top with a notch or a square knob at the top. Note that some houses have an indoor sewer line cleanout point, while others might be located outdoors.
Your sinks, toilets, showers, and washing machine each have their own branch line drains. These branch lines connect to your main house drain at some point. If your main house drain becomes clogged, all of the other drains in the house can back up.

Sewers and lateral drains connected to the public network used to be the responsibility of the property owner. However, most are now maintained by local water companies. If you have any problems with your sewer or lateral drain, for example if it's blocked, contact your local water company.
Because you are responsible for the maintenance of these drains, any collapses or damage caused by neglect or misuse will not be covered by insurance – you'll have to pay for repairs yourself. In some cases, you'll have to take out cover for particular drains on your property.
Most buildings insurance policies include cover for damage to underground pipes, drains, cables and tanks (often called underground services). Policies generally only cover problems with pipes the policyholder is legally responsible for.
They are usually behind the houses by a few metres. Sometimes people build extensions over them (this is not actually allowed). In terraces they usually run behind all the houses, parallel with the road, then come forwards to join the sewer under the road at the end of the terrace.
The sewer pipe connecting a house to the municipal branch or main sewer line under the street (in a typical installation) is called a lateral. This is usually a 4-inch pipe that is buried below the frost line in a trench that is properly prepared and sloped.

You can build over a private drain. Building control will inspect the pipework and approve the works as part of your extension. A public drain is a different matter.

Professionals can look at the system in place, contact the local council and water suppliers, and inspect sewer maps to establish which drains are shared and which drains are your responsibility.
Buildings and extensions should not be constructed over a manhole or inspection point on a sewer. Access points on a sewer may need to be relocated as part of the works and included in the design.

You need to obtain approval from your local sewerage company before installing a conservatory over a drain unless the build is an exemption. If you don't obtain approval and your water supplier needs access to your drain, then they have the authority to remove the conservatory without your permission.
