To De-Activate the Control Lock Feature Press the LOCK pad twice within three seconds.
To remove the control lock, you should just need to press and hold the ``Steam'' button for 5 seconds. That should remove the control lock so you can use the dishwasher like normal again. You can engage the control lock by doing the same thing and holding the Steam button again for 5 seconds if you'd like.
If your dishwasher door won't open and the controls are unresponsive, this is usually the result of the child lock function being accidentally activated. To deactivate this function, you need to locate the child lock button on the control panel & press the button down continuously for 3-5 seconds.
To reset the control board on a GE dishwasher, press the "Start/Reset" button for about 3 seconds. If this doesn't work, try unplugging the dishwasher or turning off its circuit breaker for about 30 seconds to 1 minute, then restore the power. This action can effectively reset the control board.
If the Washer is running, press the START/PAUSE button once it will pause the Washer and unlock the door. It will take a few seconds for the door to unlock after pressing PAUSE. Press again to restart the wash cycle. In some cycles the Washer will drain first, and then unlock the door when it is paused.
LOC: indicates the door is locked.
If the controls are unresponsive on your GE dishwasher and lights are blinking, a power surge or glitch through the electrical power lines supplying your home may have corrupted electronic control board operations.
On most models, pressing and holding the Start or Start/Reset pad for 3 seconds will cancel any set cycle, including the Delay Start cycle.
GE Dishwasher Door Latch
A dishwasher's lights flashing or blinking could indicate a problem with a micro switch inside the door latch assembly. To determine if the micro switch is at fault, use a multimeter to test the switch for continuity.
To LOCK/UNLOCK the dishwasher control, depending on the model, press and hold the Dry Boost pad, or the Steam-Sani/Presoak-Sani/Sanitize pads at the same time, for 3 seconds.
Make sure the Washer is paused (press the Start/Pause button). During the spin cycle, this can take up to 3 minutes for the basket to stop spinning and allow you to open the lid. Unplug the Washer for a minute to reset the appliance.
Washer Control Reset
To reset the electronic controls on your washer, shut off the circuit breaker or fuse to the washer or unplug the washer for 2 minutes. For models that have a timer control knob, turn the knob around and back to any position other than final spin for the interrupted cycle. Then, restore power.
