The Stealth Pool is a high quality alternative to a high-priced Inground Pool. The Stealth Semi-Inground can be buried up to 3/4 in the ground to create a sleek design in your backyard.
There are various depths of SEMI-INGROUND pools from 42” panels to 60” panels, very similar to an INGROUND pool. This makes them much stronger than a typical ABOVEGROUND pool that only use a one-piece thin corrugated wall.
For residential pools, the standard maximum depth of an inground pool is usually 8 feet. But pool builders can build deeper pools. If you plan to install a diving board, 8 feet is the minimum depth you will need in the deep end.
Semi inground pools come in all of the same sizes as traditional inground pools. Your pool size options will typically range from 12x24 feet on the smaller end to 20x40 feet for larger swimming pools.
Now, we can completely bury a steel wall stealth semi in-ground pool for as low as $14,950. These are 14 gauge galvanized steel walls that will easily last 30 years or more. The Stealth pool will give the homeowner the flexibility to build their deck, have concrete poured, or a mix of both.
With proper maintenance, your semi-inground pool could last up to 20 years (by comparison, a typical above-ground pool typically lasts 7 to 15 years). Like the Stealth Pool, just as carried by Backyard Masters in Long Island, NY, they are constructed using chemical and UV-resistant steel.
Semi-inground pools offer the best of both worlds. You'll find that a semi-ground swimming pool is significantly deeper than a regular above-ground pool, but doesn't cost nearly as much as a traditional in-ground pool.
However, if you choose the freeform shapes or choose to bury the pool fully, there are some differences in the installation process. These additional steps in the install will cause the semi-inground pool to take 3-5 business days to complete as compared to 1 day to complete an above ground pool installation.

Above-Ground pools are available in a variety of sizes, in Round and Oval shapes. Depths range from 48" to 54".
The depth and length of the swimming pool should be 5 feet and 25 feet if you want to have swim laps in it. Most people are satisfied with the standard depths of 3-5 feet in a pool with multiple depths but it cannot be a right decision if you and your spouse's height are not suitable to those pool depths.
Slides must be installed over a water depth of at least 36 inches, dropping to 42-54 inches as you move away from the slide. This generally means the middle of a pool, neither the shallow end nor all the way in the deep end. Too shallow and a slider can hit the bottom of the pool which is dangerous.
Luckily, above ground pools can have both shallow and deep ends, just like an in-ground pool. Another pool option that is gaining popularity is the semi in-ground pool design. However, be sure you fully understand the costs of semi in-ground pools first.
These pools are typically made with a steel or aluminum wall rather than the vinyl, concrete, or fiberglass material like semi inground pools.
While above ground pools cannot be fully buried, they are the most pocketbook friendly option for those looking to add a pool to their backyard in the spring or summer. Learn more about what an above ground pool costs.
The simplest way to backfill a pool is to put the dirt that was excavated back into the hole it came out of. This is also the least expensive option, since removing excavated dirt and trucking in more is costly. A slurry mix also makes a good backfill. A slurry mix is made using portland cement and plaster sand.
Hybrid Pools
Hybrid above ground pools combine the advantages of a steel pool with a resin pool. The materials used, both resin and steel, allow you to benefit from the advantages of both types of pools in one and also provide durability and effectiveness over the years.
The Partial In-Ground Option
Some pool installation professionals suggest putting an above-ground pool only halfway in the ground. Doing so reduces excavation costs and minimizes the risk of the pool collapsing inward if it needs to be drained.
