If your refrigerator is not properly making ice, the freezer temperature could be set too warm. Set the freezer control to a colder setting to improve ice production.
The colder the freezer the faster the water that came in reaches 14 degrees and drops more cubes. As long as air flow getting to the icemaker is not blocked the best you can do is set the freezer a little colder. If you have a thermometer you can check to be sure it is zero to -5.

What is Max Ice, Fast Ice, or Accelerated Ice on your Whirlpool Ice Maker? Select the accelerated ice production feature when you have an upcoming need for a large amount of ice and the ice bin is low or empty. Max Ice, Fast Ice, or Accelerated Ice mode will produce a greater quantity of ice in a 24-hour period.
For typical home refrigerator ice makers, it usually takes anywhere from 1 to 2 hours to produce a batch of ice cubes. Commercial ice makers, which are often larger and more powerful, can produce ice much faster, sometimes in as little as 10--20 minutes.

Your freezer temperature could be too high, the water inlet valve may not be functioning correctly, your home water pressure may be low, the refrigerator's water filter may be clogged, or the ice maker may need to be replaced.

A clogged filter can send less water to the ice maker, which may cause a decrease or halt in ice production. Solution: Be sure to change your refrigerator's water filter once every six months, and be on the lookout for signs of an old filter.

Cause: A bad ice maker thermostat, which can trigger a cycle too soon, causing some of the ice to not freeze fully. (Some ice makers run on a timer, instead of having a thermostat trigger the cycle. If your ice maker doesn't have a thermostat, which you can find in the manual, skip this step.)

If your freezer temperature is set too high, the ice maker will take longer to make ice. Ideally, your freezer should be set to around 0 degrees Fahrenheit. Water supply issues. Low water pressure or a clogged water filter can restrict water flow, slowing down the ice-making process.
If you don't hear a chime, but you can see movement from the ice maker, then the ice maker was reset. If you don't hear a chime and there is no movement from the ice maker, unplug the fridge or turn it off at the circuit breaker for 2 minutes. Then, power it back up and try again.
If your ice maker isn't producing ice at all or is producing crescents or cubes that are smaller than usual, it's typically indicative of a clog somewhere along the supply line. Cause: A common cause for a clog is frozen water in the line. Fix: To repair a frozen line, slide the refrigerator and unplug it.
