A: Being soap, it will probably melt, especially if you continue to pour buckets of hot water over it. Once it loses enough mass and density, you could probably force it through with a plumbing snake. It might take a couple of days of the hot-water treatment to melt the soap.
Normally, a bar of soap is not big enough to clog up the sewage PVC pipe which is usually 2″ in diameter, a bar of soap could be very slippery, it won't clog up or plug up the toilet, will be dissolved in a day or two if it is accidentally flushed down the toilet. Don't worry about it.
So, is using dish soap in your toilet a good or bad idea? Well, Peter Daly, the CEO of Master Plumbers, explained to News.com.au that "it's safest to use cleaning products specifically designed for flush toilets," which means that dish soap isn't ideal.

TUB AND SHOWER CLEANER
Put the lid on and shake well. Spray on your tub and shower walls, allowing it to sit for a few minutes before rinsing away. This will even take care of the bathtub ring. Let it sit on your shower floor overnight and scrub the gunk away in the morning.
Hot water. Boil water and pour it down the drain. This simple action will melt soap scum clinging to the pipes. Follow by running hot water for a few minutes.
The heat from the boiling water will gradually begin to melt the soap. If you're using goat milk soap, adding 1 tablespoon (14.8 ml) of water for every 2 cups of soap will help the soap scraps or pieces bind to each other.
Along with the smell from the clog, you may smell bacteria as it grows. The sitting water gives bacteria ample time to set up shop. Not only is this gross, but it also makes dealing with the clog in the morning less sanitary too.
Make your own drain cleaner by pouring one cup of baking soda and two cups of vinegar into the toilet and adding a half gallon of hot water. Dish soap can also help loosen some obstructions. When using either method, allow the solution to sit overnight and then flush the toilet to see if the obstruction has cleared.

Soap does not work properly in hard water. This is primarily because hard water contains salts of calcium and magnesium.
