Deadheading is a gardening term that defines the process of removing faded or dead flowers from plants. Deadheading is a process of pruning by which old growth and seed heads are removed from the plant to promote new growth and re-flowering. Deadheading is very simple.
Cutting flowers from your garden encourages more blooms. If not cut, deadheading spent blooms from plants, such as zinnias and marigolds, will be necessary. If left on the plant, flower production slows, and seeds will begin to form.
Removing old flowers from a plant will prevent the seeds from developing. This is particularly important if you have plants that freely self-seed in your garden. By removing the flowers as they go over, you will stop this from happening and retain some control over what grows where.

Pruning and deadheading:
Most Bidens don't need pruning, but if your plants become leggy or threaten to outgrow their space, simply give them a light trim and they will soon be covered with a fresh flush of blooms. Because bidens flowers are self-cleaning, there is no need for deadheading.
In general, fertilizers formulated for flowering plants would contain amounts of nitrogen less than or equal to the amounts of phosphorus (i.e. 10-10-10 or 5-10-5). This is because phosphorus encourages flowering.

And, removing spent flowers has multiple benefits. Not only does the process clean up a plant's appearance, but it also controls the spread of seeds and encourages your flowers and plants to continue to grow thicker and fuller than before.
Therefore, it is not recommended to use plucking as a primary hair removal method, especially for larger areas of the body. It is best to use methods like trimming, shaving, or waxing instead. But those methods give you smoother skin!
Generally, if your plant is lush and full of flowers, it's safe to start snipping some off. Stick to about a quarter or so of a plant's blooms, and cut above a set of healthy leaves to stimulate regrowth and keep the base plant looking attractive even after the flower is removed, our expert says.
