Oxyclean will fade dark clothes and colored clothes because it has a bleaching effect when you use too much or soaked for a long time. Also because hot water causes clothes to lose their color pigments into water. Hot water also sets in stains in clothes.
Soaking clothes in Oxiclean for too long can make the fabric weaker. This is especially true for delicate fabrics like wool, silk, or spandex. The cleaning stuff in Oxiclean is great for getting rid of stains, but if it sits on your clothes for ages, it can start to break down the fibers.
Don't use OxiClean on wool, silk, or other off-limits fabrics. OxiClean's manufacturer suggests that it should not be used on the following fabrics: wool, wool blends, silk, silk blends, leather, or on fabrics labeled dry-clean only.
