Tough bathroom stains don't stand a chance against OxiClean™ stain fighters that power through grime and stains on all kinds of surfaces. Say goodbye to soap scum, hard water build-up, calcium, lime stains, grease and gunk. OxiClean™ Bathroom Cleaner does the hard work for you.
Arm & Hammer Liquid Laundry Detergent Plus OxiClean is a powerful choice for your hard water laundry needs.
The blue crystals in OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover are made of water softener molecules which help your detergent work better.
You can also add 1/2 cup laundry borax to each load. Borax provides water softening by producing a soluble calcium complex (forming a chelate with the minerals so that they are no longer available for reactions) and boosts surfactant performance by preventing precipitation of a calcium/surfactant complex.
The mineral content of your water can affect the way you wash your clothes. Washing in hard water can leave mineral deposits behind on your clothes that can cause soiling to build up on your clothes and also cause your whites to look dingy.
Hard water does not form lather with soap because a large amount of soap is used to neutralize the salts present in water, resulting in the formation of scum which sticks to clothes during washing making them dirtier.
Don't use OxiClean on wool, silk, or other off-limits fabrics.
A: OxiClean is a detergent itself and would not need to be mixed or added with other detergents.
Oxygen bleach helps to lift out laundry stains by releasing oxygen, and while it can be helpful as a way to whiten and brighten laundry, washing soda is still a better choice when dealing with stubborn or oily stains (and oxygen bleach doesn't combat hard water like washing soda does, either).
Best for Tough Stains and Hard Water
Tide Plus Ultra Stain Release is more than a superior stain remover. In our tests, this concentrated detergent works solidly in hard water. In fact, in our ratings, 12 Tide detergents (liquids and pods/packs) offer near top-level efficiency in hard water.
A natural and efficient laundry detergent designed specifically to remove stubborn stains from hard water with a high mineral concentration is Rockin' Green's Hard Rock Laundry Powder.
OxiClean contains several ingredients, but the important one for boosting and brightening laundry is sodium percarbonate — basically, dry hydrogen peroxide plus washing soda (also called sodium carbonate, which is very similar to but not exactly baking soda).
If you're DIYing a laundry detergent and you want it to be really potent, then washing soda might be the way to go. If you're looking for a gentler detergent, baking soda is a great option. Oxiclean becomes just peroxide and washing soda once it hits liquid.
Oxiclean powder is essentially washing soda with sodium percarbonate, which turns into hydrogen peroxide. It's color safe and works great to get rid of stains and keeps whites white and colors bright. It's also much safer / less toxic than Borax. Borax works well too, helps get rid of stains, and whitens clothes.
By comparison, OxiClean suggests that you don't leave it on a garment for more than six hours, because it can start to damage the fabric.
OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover works in any temperature water, but best in warm to hot water.
Skin Contact: Prolonged exposure may cause skin irritation. Eye Contact: Causes permanent damage to the cornea, iris, or conjunctiva. OxiClean™ Bathroom Cleaner can help you thoroughly clean both the toilet bowl and around the base in an effort to keep scum buildup at bay.
The OxiClean™ formulation is a combination of ingredients, the key ingredient being sodium percarbonate, sodium carbonate, surfactants and polymer. Combined, these ingredients work together to remove the toughest stains. OxiClean™ does this by: Breaking down stains.
Vinegar makes a perfect fragrance-free fabric softener and works well for hard water. To use vinegar as a fabric softener and static reducer: Add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of distilled white vinegar to the final rinse cycle of your washing machine.
The hard water minerals will also prevent your detergent from mixing with the water to form a solution, which hampers the effectiveness of your detergent, preventing fabrics from getting completely clean – this will cause smelly clothes after washing.
The most accessible water softeners to add to your wash routine are Calgon and Borax. Both can be found in the laundry aisle, and both are effective for softening hard water.
The differences seem to be: - The regular Oxiclean has more sodium percarbonate: 30-60% instead of 10-30%, which means that the White Revive probably has more regular sodium carbonate. - The White Revive has some "Poly(oxy-1,2-ethanediyl), . alpha.
