Light Scratches: Magic Erasers may help reduce the appearance of very light surface scratches or scuffs on car paint by smoothing the area. However, they can also remove wax or sealant, which may leave the paint unprotected.
Process: Detailers use a polishing compound and a rotary buffer to remove a thin layer of the clear coat, effectively leveling out surface scratches.
Polishing compound: Polishing compound and a soft cloth can be used to remove fine scratches by restoring the shine of the paint. Sandpaper: For deeper scratches, sandpaper can be used to sand down the rough edges and then polished to restore the shine.
Clean Magic Eraser. It is one of the most useful tools that you can use to try to get out stains and marks from things. Whether it is a pen mark on the counter or a scuff mark on the wall, the Magic Eraser will likely do a great job at removing it and making it look brand new again.
WD40 works on car scratches by essentially “sealing” them. Filling in the scratched area with WD40 creates a barrier that protects the exposed metal from further damage.

Things to Consider Before Buying a Car Scratch Remover
They don't really "remove" scratches at all; rather, they're designed to gently blend the light scratches on the surface of your car into your car's finish, making them less visible.
The majority of abrasives within toothpaste are made from chalk or silica, such as calcium carbonate, dicalcium phosphate, sodium metaphosphate, calcium pyrophosphate, and zirconium silicate, which, when applied to wet microfiber cloths, act as light-grit sandpaper for removing scratches.
Filling In the Scratch
Once the area is clean, the technician can use auto body filler (a thick putty specifically for car repairs) to fill in the scratch. When the putty dries, the technician can sand it down to fill the scratch and make it feel smooth.
When the main ingredient in Magic Erasers, melamine foam, is mixed with water, it becomes a highly abrasive material like sandpaper. Using melamine sponge and Magic Erasers on your teeth is a direct route to enamel decay. Once tooth enamel is destroyed, it can't be brought back!
Dampen a cloth with a little rubbing alcohol or adhesive remover and use this to rub the mark with a circular motion, keeping an eye on the status of the mark as you work. Once the mark has disappeared, follow the same process with a water-dampened cloth.
Perhaps one of the most effective ways to remove scratches from a car's paint job, a magic eraser is a favorite choice for many. It might not be the best tool in the box for fixing deeper cuts, but it works well on light surface scratches.
Use a Polishing Compound
One way to repair car scratches is to use a polishing compound. It will help to fill in the scratch and make them less visible. You can find polishing compounds at most auto parts stores. Just be sure of the directions carefully, so you don't damage the paint on your car.

While car detailing techniques can significantly improve the appearance of scratches, complete elimination may not always be achievable, particularly for deep or severe scratches. In such cases, more extensive repair options, such as repainting or panel replacement, may be necessary.
Wet Sanding and Buffing
Touch-up paints are among the most basic tools for addressing minor scratches and chips. This process involves applying matching paint directly to the damaged area using a small brush.
Depending on how much force you apply to it, a Magic Eraser may have a grit rating between 3000 and 5000, equal to fine sandpaper. This is why scrubbing a Magic Eraser on car paint isn't recommended. It can remove the gunk on your vehicle's body panel or window glass. However, it can also scratch your paint job.
