The major difference between delicate and normal wash cycles is agitation or tumbling speed. Compared to normal wash cycles which use higher agitation or tumbling speeds for casual items, delicate wash cleans items using low agitation or tumbling speeds, along with cold water, for gentle cleaning and reduced wrinkling.
Generally speaking, cold wash cycles are best for delicates, colored, and normally soiled clothing; warm water is best for more soiled clothing and whites; and hot water is best for very soiled clothing or for loads, like underwear and towels, where you want to remove germs and allergens.

If your washer leaves clothes soaked, you may also need to check your cycle settings. Hand Wash or Delicate settings often use slower spin speeds to avoid harming fragile fabrics, leaving a standard wash load soaking wet.
These delicate fabrics are too sensitive for regular washing methods and must be laundered separately to keep them looking new.
The Delicates Cycle
This cycle uses warm or cold water with low or no spin. It's typically the shortest and most gentle cleaning cycle, and the low or no-spin allows for minimal fabric agitation. If the machine defaults to warm water, we recommend you override this by selecting cold water.

This cycle uses the lowest temperature and the lowest tumble. Since delicate items and woolens should not be put in the dryer, we often use this setting for drying synthetics, lingerie, and other heat-sensitive everyday items.
Do Clothes Get Clean On Quick Wash? Absolutely. Clothes will easily be cleaned in a 15-minute quick wash cycle. However, such a cycle will only perform a very simple wash.
The Heavy-duty cycle is for jeans and towels, or heavily soiled clothing. This cycle uses a long wash cycle combined with high-speed agitation and spin. The Bulky cycle is great for pillows, blankets, and rugs. This cycle allows items to soak in water and soap for a short time before starting the wash.
Heavily soiled clothing such as towels or bedding should be washed in warm or hot temperatures, but delicate fabrics such as lingerie wash better in lower temperatures. If you have stained whites with things such as blood or wine, a hot/warm wash could help the stain to set in, so a cold wash should do just the job.

Use the Delicate or Gentle cycle
Denim may seem like a tough fabric, but that doesn't mean you should choose a Heavy Duty wash cycle. Instead, opt for the Delicate or Gentle cycle, and use cold water to help avoid shrinking or fading.
The best way to protect your bras during a wash cycle is to place them inside a mesh laundry bag and wash using mild detergent and cool water on the delicate cycle setting, making sure to air dry afterwards. These precautions can help protect the bra's shape and structure, but it does not guarantee it.
