Benjamin Moore partners with the American Coatings Association (ACA) and the Canadian Paint and Coatings Association (CPCA). The ACA's nonprofit entity, PaintCare, operates in states with paint stewardship laws and manages an industry-wide program to collect leftover paint for reuse, recycling, or safe disposal.
Unopened paint and/or supplies can be exchanged or returned – customer is responsible for shipping cost. Opened items or items without all original packaging intact cannot be accepted.
Returns & Refunds
By original condition, the item should be unused and undamaged. This doesn't affect your statutory rights. Our extended colour mixed (tinted) colours are custom made on your request. As such they are not resaleable, so we cannot accept returns.
Mixed paint can be returned as long as it is still a full can. They cannot just use some and return it. If they don't like the color they can take it to the paint desk and they might be able to fix the color. BUT some stores will regardless and it's stupid.

For paint cans that have been opened, we reserve the right to not issue a refund. If you cancel the Contract before delivery of the products then you will receive a refund of the price paid of the products and any applicable delivery costs.
No Refunds: It's important to note that refunds are not usually offered for custom-mixed paints.

Both can work, but acrylic paint's elasticity and resistance to wear and tear make it better for high-touch areas and furniture. Latex paint works well for larger indoor projects where low toxicity and easy cleanup with a brush are priorities.
They carry both at home depot, though most house paints you would get (unless it is white or some very commonly used neutral color) is custom mixed color, however there are spray paints, oil based paints and other types that are pre-mixed color that you can return unopened cans of.

Sherwin Williams started to accept paint for recycling- Free of charge. I dropped off 9 partial gallons and 16 qts graciously left by my previous homeowner.
