Agreeable is a gray that leans towards beige, hence the term greige. Now not all greiges are the same, there are colors such as Accessible Beige, which are beige that leans towards gray. Agreeable Gray is a soft greige with a little warmth in it.
Agreeable Gray is a warm greige that is one of our favorite neutrals to recommend. Despite its name, the color really is more of a greige than a gray, although depending on the way the sun hits your home, it could read more gray. With an LRV of 60, the hue is on the lighter side and is extremely versatile.
Agreeable Gray is a greige-taupe hybrid that can EASILY pass as a warm gray (which we'll get into shortly). It's open to perception based on the room/surface it's on and the person looking at it – some call it greige, others call it gray (but it sure as heck isn't beige)!
The main difference between Accessible Beige and Agreeable Gray, is that Agreeable Gray is lighter, and cooler. Accessible Beige is beige, and Agreeable Gray is greige. That's it in a nutshell, but I have a lot of great examples and photos here. This post may contain affiliate links.
If you are looking for a beige or tan – go with Accessible Beige. If you prefer gray – go with Agreeable Gray! Accessible Beige is also SLIGHTLY darker compared to Agreeable Gray. Depending on the lighting in your home, it could make a difference!
SW White Heron is the 50% lighter version of SW Agreeable Gray. If you were to lighten Agreeable Gray by 50% the color ends up being significantly altered and will not be an accurate 50% lighter color. The truest, most accurate color that is 50% lighter is SW White Heron.

Agreeable Gray (AG) is truly a greige: it is a warm gray paint, meaning it usually leans brown or beige rather than blue. I always refer to it as a “chameleon color,” though, because depending on the light, it can appear a light beige or a light gray.
The LRV of Agreeable Gray is 60, which means it reflects a good amount of light, but as you'll read below it needs a lot of light to look good. The Light Reflective Value, or LRV, measures how much light a paint color reflects and indicates on a scale from 1-100 how light or dark a color is with 1=dark and 100=light.
If you need a great white trim color to pair with Agreeable Gray, I recommend SW Extra White or SW Pure White.
Agreeable Gray, by Sherwin-Williams

Agreeable Gray is extremely popular because it's light, neutral, has just a touch of color, and goes with almost everything!
SW Anew Gray is a shade darker than Agreeable Gray and is between beige and gray (basically a warm greige). This color gives good contrast against white trim and is a good option for cabinetry.
Mega Greige – Mega Greige is another great Sherwin-Williams gray with warm tones that is two shades darker on the Sherwin Williams Agreeable Gray swatch. It is a great darker greige if you are looking to do an accent wall or adjacent room in the same color family.
I like it because it doesn't take on a blue or green hue the way many gray paints do. The only time I've noticed a colorful undertone is on the wall right near that picture of the pier (upper right corner), which has some pink/coral-ish in it. I think it can make the Agreeable Gray look a bit pink when the sun hits it.
In a balanced quality of light, Agreeable Gray looks like a mid-tone, warm, near neutral gray. However, in certain qualities of light it can shift and look purplish. Near neutrals from Agreeable Gray's hue family neighborhood are notorious for shifting purple in unbalanced qualities of light.
Greige was seen in 2022, gracing walls and cabinets, but it will grow stronger in 2023, believes interior designer and TV personality Breegan Jane, who describes it as a chalk-like color that falls right between gray and beige. “It is a perfect wall color when you want to bring tones from your hardscape inside.
They are both fantastic neutrals that work well in many spaces and with different kinds of lighting. They are very similar colors but Accessible Beige is slightly darker compared to Agreeable Gray. While both colors have green undertones, Accessible Beige is slightly warmer.
As with all colors, the lighting in your home will make a difference in how Agreeable Gray looks. For example, in a room with lots of white light, Agreeable Gray may look more gray. However, in a room with more yellow-toned lights, Agreeable Gray will take on more of a beige look.

2. Repose Gray has more gray in it while Agreeable Gray has more beige in it. Repose Gray can also take on a green tinge in some spaces.
Classic Gray vs Agreeable Gray
Agreeable Gray is a little bit darker, and it's more of a true gray color. Classic Gray is lighter and closer to off-white. Both colors are true neutrals, but Agreeable Gray has warmer green undertones than Classic Gray.
Mindful Gray vs. Agreeable Gray. These two are pretty much alike with Agreeable being slightly lighter. This is why they basically pair pretty well, but you will need to use a contrasting trim, preferably white, to prevent these colors from mixing into one solid greige mixture.
Accessible Beige is a bit darker and has a more noticeable color intensity than Agreeable Gray, which is lighter and softer. Paint finish and Lighting: Both colors can look different depending on the lighting conditions.
