OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover works in any temperature water, but best in warm to hot water. Do NOT use boiling water.
Warm or hot water helps the Oxi Clean dissolve better. You can use cold water, but it is definitely harder to get the Oxi Clean to disperse.
Oxy-Boost is a versatile, highly concentrated oxygen-based cleaning powder that can whiten, brighten and deodorize everything from clothes to kitchen appliances and grout. In order for Oxy-Boost to activate, it must be combined with hot or cold water.
Our powerful Oxi Action formula provides amazing stain removal, even in a cold wash (25°C).
OxiClean™ powder is activated by warm or hot water. When using in cold water, first dissolve OxiClean™ White Revive™ Laundry Stain Remover Paks in hot water, and then add the warm solution to the drum or in a cooler soaking solution.
The colder water is, the more oxygen it can hold. As the water becomes warmer, less oxygen can be dissolved in the water. Salinity is also an important factor in determining the amount of oxygen a body of water can hold; fresh water can absorb more oxygen than salt water.
Package instructions are quite clear; they recommend adding oxiclean to the bottom of washer tub “before loading clothes”. If you add the powder to liquid detergent, in the dispenser, it will create a gummy clog and won't be “dispensed” properly into the wash load.
OxiClean contains several ingredients, but the important one for boosting and brightening laundry is sodium percarbonate — basically, dry hydrogen peroxide plus washing soda (also called sodium carbonate, which is very similar to but not exactly baking soda).
Yes, you can add detergent to the load as well as oxyclean and it will boost the performance of your favorite kind.
Customers say that OxiClean Versatile Stain Remover is a reliable and effective product for tackling tough stains on both whites and colors.
Let stand for 5 minutes or up to a week, depending on the severity of the stain. For set-in stains, allow the spray to penetrate overnight or up to a week. For fabrics prone to color change, do not let stand longer than 5 minutes. Do not treat the garment while wearing it.
Apply using a cloth, sponge, brush, or by pouring solution directly onto surface. Let stand 5–30 min. Scrub as needed. For large surfaces, work with small areas, so solution does not dry on the surface.
Many food or beverage stains, such as chocolate, jam, baby food, beer, and dairy are more easily removed with cold water soaks and washes. Cold water is also recommended for urine and blood stains. Other stains, especially oily or greasy ones, do better in warm or hot water.
Customers say that OxiClean Laundry Stain Remover Spray is highly effective at removing a variety of stains, including food, grease, and dirt, making it a staple for families with children and pets. Many appreciate its ease of use, pleasant scent, and versatility for both laundry and home cleaning.
It is always best to thoroughly rinse areas with clean water where OxiClean™ Versatile Stain Remover came in contact with plants, to wash away any residual product.
OxiClean™ White Revive™ Laundry Whitener & Stain Remover is a non-chlorine bleach alternative. It has oxygen bleach and is color safe, so you can use it on white items that might have stripes, logos or other forms of coloration!
Soaking clothes in Oxiclean for too long can make the fabric weaker. This is especially true for delicate fabrics like wool, silk, or spandex. The cleaning stuff in Oxiclean is great for getting rid of stains, but if it sits on your clothes for ages, it can start to break down the fibers.
Laundry booster
Just add the powder to your top-loading machine along with your regular laundry detergent before you add the clothes. If you have a front-loading machine, mix the OxiClean with your regular powdered laundry detergent and load it into the dispenser. Oxiclean works best with warm or hot water.
1-2 scoops for HE. 2-4 scoops/gal for soaking tough stains on garments. Large scoop is 4 oz or 1/2 cup and has 4 fill lines (so 2 Tbsp / 1 oz / 1/8 cup per line). Instructions say fill to line 1-3 for washer: 1 for regular, more for larger or dirtier loads.
Temperature: High temperatures reduce the solubility of oxygen in water (i.e., warm water holds less DO than cold water).
Generally, if the oxygen level is 79% or lower, they will likely die in the next 24 hours. Caveat: I had a patient with an oxygen saturation of 96% and she died one hour later, and another patient lived for months with oxygen levels in the 70s.
The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) recommends that water heater manufacturers preset the temperature of water heaters to 120°F. Efforts to regulate tap water temperature at the state level began in Florida in 1980 when the state legislature called for water heater temperatures to be pre-set at 125°F.
