We used Woolite Oxy Deep Oxygen-Activated Stain Remover to clean a food stain on our microfiber love seat. It worked great, lifted off the stain, and didn't leave a mark.
A regular washing detergent without softeners will work just fine. Woolite will work.
Use a dedicated microfiber detergent like Microfiber Revitalizer or a dye free/perfume free liquid laundry soap - no powders or granulated. Set washer to a warm water setting. Some heat is required to break down waxes and polishes. Cold settings will not clean towels as effectively.
When washing microfiber cloths, avoid harsh soap, fabric softener or detergent with laundry additives, including fragrances and fabric conditioners. These coat the fibers of the cloth and make them less effective for cleaning. Lightly dusty or dirty microfiber cloths can be hand-washed.
Use undiluted rubbing alcohol to clean a microfiber couch that features an “S” care tag. Always do the cleaning of a microfiber couch in small sections so the fabric does not become saturated at any point.
OxiClean can be used on most of your laundry including microfiber cloths and towels. It should not be used on delicate items such as wool and silk. For that, you will need a more gentle method such as soap flakes or a non-biological detergent.
Microfiber cloth is the only eyeglass cleaning cloth accepted by lens manufacturers. It is a wipe used for mechanical cleaning, to remove dust, dirt, water, or whatever disturb the visibility through the lens.
It could be liquid or powdered detergent or even laundry pods, just be sure to use a gentle detergent. Unscented detergents work better, since they are usually not as harsh as regular, mainstream laundry detergent. Never use fabric softener when washing microfiber cloths, though!
The best way to remove debris or grease from your microfiber is to rinse them as best as possible before washing. This will help remove some of the crumbs, dust, and dirt so the cloth can get a better clean from the washing machine. Dish soap can be useful for removing stains before washing too.
Prep a separate bucket with VERY HOT clean water and add blue dawn dish soap along with gentle tide. Add towels. Soak towels for roughly 2 hours. If a towel ever becomes so contaminated that it doesn't wash clean, it may be time to retire it to a new job.
Since using Woolite with cold water and vinegar as a softener have been the only changes in my towel laundering, I believe Woolite is keeping my towels softer, more absorbent, and has retained the original colors.
A microfiber cloth has the same surface area as a cotton cloth four times as large! And it is very absorbent. It can absorb seven times its weight in water! Microfiber products are also positively charged, meaning they attract negatively charged dirt and grease.
Microfiber cloths are your best bet for effective and damage-free cleaning and drying. But a dirty one can exacerbate your grime, not alleviate it, so treat your eyeglass-cleaning cloths like reusable handkerchiefs and wash them often.
Microfiber cloths are absorbent cloths that can be washed and reused to clean windows, leaving them clear, shiny and streak-free. These are best used to apply cleaning solutions to windows, scrub them clean and wipe them dry. Best of all, they are soft and pose no risk to your windows.
Wash in warm or hot water with mild detergent. No fabric softeners – they clog the open spaces in the microfiber, making the fabric useless. Be careful what you wash with your microfiber. Avoid anything made with cotton because the microfiber will grab on to the lint.
To ensure no cross contamination takes place wash your towels separate. Now you can use one of the Microfiber detergents or continue with the OxiClean Max Wash as it works and is very economical. Wash in warm water and once the wash cycle is complete the load will spin making itself ready for the rinse.
One advantage of microfiber mops over cotton counterparts is how easy they are to clean — they simply get thrown in the washing machine. Wash dust and wet microfiber mop heads with a gentle detergent in hot water. They should never be washed with bleach or fabric softener.
Clean Microfiber Upholstery
But a spritz of Windex can work wonders. Simply spray the surface lightly—careful not to soak the fibers—then brush very gently with a soft-bristled scrub brush, working in the same direction. Tough stains might require a second application.
For deep cleaning a microfiber sofa, chair, or other furniture we recommend a machine such as the Bissell Little Green Multi-Purpose Compact Deep Cleaner with its spray cleaner and strong suction. For best results, clean spills as soon as possible after they happen.
Upholstery. Spot test first – but a Magic Eraser just might be the answer to worn, stained upholstery like leather and microfiber. Users swear it makes a microfiber couch or chair's worn corners and edges look fresh and new.
Cleaning With Rubbing Alcohol
Rubbing alcohol evaporates faster than water, though, and doesn't leave water stains. To use it, spray it on the fabric with a spray bottle and scrub the stains with a sponge; be sure any scrubbing implements you use are white to avoid transferring color to the fabric.
