When you buy unicorn spit it is very concentrated, so you can dilute a small amount with water. To apply the unicorn spit you can use a brush, cloth or foam pad. Paint it on like a regular stain going with the wood grain.
Because of this, I would definitely recommend diluting your Unicorn SPiT at least a little bit if you decide to use it with acrylic paints. Or you could use only Unicorn SPiT. Sealing can be tricky.

I had seen a product called unicorn spit which is a water-based stain. I bought a set on Amazon and decided to give it a try. As a note, it can be used on tons of different surfaces – not just wood. It's got a nice mild scent and if you hate what you've done you can remove it by re-activating it with water.
The sky's the limit for customizing color
Start by applying oil-based stain using a Purdy brush, wiping off the excess with a lint-free rag. Then, choose a secondary tone to achieve your custom look. Apply it with a brush, then use a rag to blend the colors together while wiping off the excess.
Dry time depends upon thickness of the application. Dry time is approximately 30-60 minutes (depending on material, humidity and temperature) or until a chalky finish appears. Unicorn SPiT dries quickly. Use a spray bottle of water to keep product from drying out and to easily manipulate.
Can UNICORN SPiT be used outdoors? Yes. Make sure to protect your masterpiece first with finishes/coatings that are oil-based. Water-based coatings will alter the look of Unicorn SPiT.
Unicorn SPiT can be diluted by up to 10% with water to customise your paint. Simply add 10 parts Unicorn SPiT with up to 1 part water in a resealable container. Test your paint on a small piece of dry, clean and bare sample article while adding the water to you get your preferred effect.
