Parchment paper can handle the heat inside your air fryer - up to 428°F (220°C). To get the best results, add the parchment paper to the air fryer basket at the same time as you add your ingredients. This prevents the paper from lifting up and coming into contact with the heating element while cooking.

They are best for lining standard air fryer baskets, not air fryers that look like toaster ovens. The holes allow hot air to circulate around the food while still providing a base to trap some of the grease and food bits that usually fall through the basket.
You may have found yourself wondering if you can use parchment paper in the air fryer, the answer is yes!
Air fryers work by circulating hot air, which originates at the bottom of the fryer. Lining it with foil can constrict the air flow and your food won't cook properly. If you are going to use aluminum foil in an air fryer, use a small amount in the bottom of the basket, making sure not to cover the food.
While it's not completely necessary, parchment paper with holes in it is helpful if you're using an air fryer basket. "The holes are a good idea because it does allow grease to drain away from the food, and that's going to give you a crispy exterior on the bottom," Laurence says.
No need to wrap each potato in aluminum foil, only to have to unwrap the hot foil multiple times to see if the potato is cooked through. Air frying allows the hot air to circulate in a small closed environment for perfectly cooked potatoes that have a soft interior and crispy skin.
Set the air fryer to 200C and cook streaky bacon rashers for 6-10 mins – just-cooked bacon will take 6 mins, but crispier bacon will take 9-10 mins. Cook back bacon rashers for 4-8 mins, depending on your preference.
1) Plastic Containers or Plastic Takeaway Containers
Any kind of plastic, even if it's labeled “microwave-safe” or “oven-safe”, should never be used in an air fryer.
Airflow is essential to the machine, so while a paper towel is useful for cleaning, it should not be used while cooking food in the air fryer. It can restrict the airflow of the machine and even catch fire. It's important to remember that the air inside the air fryer can get very hot.

Do not ever use parchment or wax paper in the broiler. Despite its heat resistance, parchment paper can't handle the heat of any broiler, which can reach temperatures upward of 500°F. And wax paper? It should never come near the high heat of the oven or broiler.
'People choose to buy air fryer liners for a variety of reasons but mostly for the time saved on cleaning up,' explains Dennis Digwa, appliance expert at RGBDirect. 'By preventing food from sticking directly to the basket, liners can contribute to keeping the air fryer in better condition over time.
"Put a slice of bread on the bottom of your air fryer," Kang said. "It's a green alternative to foil for catching grease and drips for easier clean-up." In order to minimize food waste, you may want to only use this technique when cooking especially greasy foods (like bacon), and also use bread slices that are stale.
Use a small amount of aluminum foil in the bottom of the basket and make sure not to cover the food. Don't put foil on the bottom of the air fryer itself. Set the air fryer to 200C and cook for 40-50 mins, or until a sharp knife goes through the potatoes easily. Check the potatoes after 20 mins – if they seem to be browning too quickly on one side, turn them over using tongs, then check again after another 20 mins to ensure they're cooked through.

"You should never use parchment in either the air fryer basket or baking pan if there is nothing to hold it down to secure it, like food, as the high velocity fans will cause the parchment to possibly touch the heating elements," notes Rodgers. That's a recipe for starting a small fire.
Cut the paper to the size of the bottom of your air fryer basket. It's best to cut it a bit smaller in fact, so air can circulate more freely (air circulation is paramount to how an air fryer cooks). Stuffing the air fryer with large or excess paper willy nilly is a sure-fire way to disaster (pun intended).
