Citric acid is the main ingredient in most commercial descalers. That's what I always use, finding it more effective than vinegar (not to mention the lack of smell). Most instructions I've seen call for 2 tablespoons citric acid powder per liter of water.
There are a few options you can try: Apply vinegar or lemon juice directly onto a cloth and scrub the limescale until it comes away. Alternatively, mix one part lemon juice or vinegar to four parts water. Put the solution in a spray bottle and spritz it onto tiles and plugholes.
How to clean a Keurig without vinegar. You can substitute the vinegar cleaning solution with a 1:1 lemon juice and water mixture. Since you may need several cups of this mixture to fill the reservoir and run a cleaning cycle as explained above, be sure to buy quite a few lemons (between 10-20).

Combine equal parts water and vinegar

Use Lemon Juice to descale. Whilst it is cheaper for some to boil water on the hob, for those who do use a kettle this tip is great for you. Boil equal parts lemon juice and water to descale your kettle. Boil once then leave to cool repeat if needed.

How I Tested the Citric Acid as a Descaler. The Milliard packets didn't come with instructions, so I had to look up the ratio of water-to-product to use. Most websites suggest using two tablespoons of citric acid to one liter of hot water and to dissolve the powder into the water.
To create a DIY descaling solution, mix one part white vinegar and one part water. If your Keurig has a water filter, remove it when descaling. Fill the water tank with the descaling solution. Brew the entire contents of the water tank, dumping each cup as it runs through the system.
If the Keurig descaling solution isn't on hand, white vinegar is the cleaning solution you can have on hand. You'll want to do equal parts water and vinegar. Fill the reservoir about halfway with white vinegar, and then add water until you reach the top.
