PRECAUTIONS: Recommended for use ONLY on porcelain enamel, iron, stainless steel, ceramic and glass surfaces. Avoid excessive use on glass. Do not use on exterior oven surfaces, aluminum, chrome, baked enamel.
Easy off oven cleaner works great on stainless pots and pans that don't have any nonstick or other coatings.
The solvents also spell danger for the chromium-infused surface quality of stainless steel. Chlorinated solvents are safe degreasers to use on some material, but chromium alloys such as stainless steel are not among them. This provides another reason to phase out any hazardous chlorinated cleaning solvents you use.
Deeper cleaning – If you have a stainless steel stove, you need to use a gentle degreasing cleaner to remove the grease before following the daily cleaning regimen. A quick DIY recipe for a degreaser is to mix distilled white vinegar with a drop or two of dish detergent and place the mixture in a spray bottle.
You can use baking soda by making a paste with water to gently rub on the surface of your appliance. Vinegar can be used as a stainless steel cleaner when mixed with mineral oil. Stainless steel appliances can also be cleaned using a mixture of dish soap and warm water.
Although I bought mine specifically for the stove, you can also use it on stainless steel and other hard surfaces except for glass, ceramic, marble, and aluminum. The cleaner also has a light, pleasant lemon smell that quickly disappears, and one bottle gets you 28 ounces of the liquid.
Mix soap and water.
The soapy water won't harm stainless steel surfaces or appliances. Commercial products such as Barkeeper's Friend, Cerama Bryte, Sprayaway, and Weiman are also non-abrasive cleaners that work well on stainless steel.
After you've sprayed your pan with the oven cleaner, stash it the garage, outside or even in your oven to keep the fumes from spreading in your home. Then let the Easy-Off work its magic for about 15 minutes.
As a general rule, however, you should avoid these tools and cleaners on stainless steel, as they may scratch the surface, stain or dull the finish: Harsh abrasives. Scouring powders. Steel wool.
Use a microfiber or soft cloth when wiping down your appliances. Avoid cleaners that can damage steel and finishes. Instead, clean your stainless steel appliances with a dish soap like Dawn® Platinum. Its unique formula is tough enough to break up grease and grime while staying gentle on stainless steel surfaces.
DON'T use chlorine bleach, chloride, oven cleaner, or other abrasive cleaners. Many different cleaners contain chlorides or chlorine. These chemicals and other abrasive cleaners will cause surface pitting. They can also strip the protective chrome oxide barrier from stainless steel.
Its expert deep cleaning formula dissolves tough oven grease & food spills and wipes away easily. Ideal for cleaning ovens/oven doors, BBQ grills, broilers/broiler pans and stainless steel surfaces.
You can clean stainless steel naturally with various nonabrasive techniques like microfiber cloths, sponges, and cleaning solutions like baking soda, vinegar, lemon juice, mild soaps, and more.
If swallowed, DO NOT induce vomiting. Rinse mouth thoroughly and seek medical attention immediately. PRECAUTIONS: Recommended for use ONLY on porcelain enamel, iron, stainless steel, ceramic and glass surfaces.
Spray the racks liberally with Easy-Off Pro (or your chosen cleaning product), then put them into a trash bag—pro tip: if possible, spray them while they are already in the bag to keep all of the cleaner in play.
Avoid breathing spray mist. Avoid spraying oven pilot light. Keep off all electrical connections such as heating element, thermostat, bulb receptacles, and light switch. Do not mix with other chemicals or cleaning products.
Add a hearty pour of baking soda (about ¼ cup or ½ cup), and then carefully place your pan in the water. Reduce the water to a gentle boil and let the pan cook for about 15 to 30 minutes, flipping or rotating it if necessary so that all the sides are boiled. You should start to see brown residue flaking off.
