For walls, ceilings, or trim, Chantilly Lace is a safe choice to pair with almost any color.
BM Chantilly Lace is a very light off white color. It would be fine on the ceiling. I prefer their Matte finish but eggshell fine on the walls only.
SW Pure White acts like a true white and is good for ceilings and trim. Using the same white for both, especially with crown molding, removes the risk of having undertones clash.
To get the job done right, we recommend Benjamin Moore ceiling paint, specifically the Waterborne Ceiling Paint designed to hide those small blemishes common to ceilings with a flat finish.
Because of how simple and clean Chantilly Lace is, it can read warm or cool depending on the direction your home faces and the subsequent natural light. However, the shade has virtually no undertones, so no matter what colors you pair it with or what direction your home faces, it's still going to look white.

Think of it as a light shade of grayish white or almost a neutral light gray color. This is a go-to color for people who don't want to overthink a dark room, bringing tranquility and simplicity to their space.
Although a flat finish is most popular, more ceiling paint finishes are available: Eggshell finish: After flat, eggshell finish is the next most popular ceiling paint finish. Eggshell paints offer a low sheen while still absorbing most light and hiding ceiling imperfections.
You can use a wall emulsion to paint ceilings, all interior wall emulsions are technically suitable for ceilings too but for the best finish, a flat matt paint on a ceiling gives the best overall look. It helps to hide any uneven areas or surface imperfections that are often highlighted by the light.
The Magic of Paint
Go for a bright white ceiling, and when we say bright, we mean bright! It will create a reflective surface, which reflects more light to give the illusion of increased height. While you're at it, make your walls the same lighter color to blur the boundaries between the wall and the ceiling.
How to Choose Ceiling Paint Colors. As a general rule, ceilings that are lighter in tone than the walls feel higher, while darker colors will make the ceiling feel lower. But that doesn't necessarily mean the room will feel claustrophobic. Visually lowered ceilings can evoke a cozy, intimate feeling.
The most popular Benjamin Moore white paint colour is White Dove OC-17, a clean and classic white hue. White Dove is also our most sampled paint colour. Favourites Chantilly Lace OC-65 and Swiss Coffee OC-45 are close behind as most popular Benjamin Moore white paint colours.
Thanks to its ability to maintain a warm undertone, Chantilly Lace still appears white in the gray light of cool climates. This is why it's one of the most popular white paint colors with interior designers; it's a true white that isn't easily influenced by lighting conditions or adjoining colors.
Compared to Chantilly Lace, Extra White reads a bit grayer due to its subtle gray undertone. Since both colors are pretty muted and balanced, they work really nicely together and can be used in the same space with the addition of a brighter white.
Benjamin Moore Chantilly Lace is a bright white that has just a hint of warmth to it so it doesn't feel stark… making it perfect for trim, cabinets, interiors and exteriors. It's the perfect complement to spaces with blue hues or slightly cooler colors.
A white ceiling makes smaller spaces feel larger. For seamless color flow, select a white for your ceiling that shares a similar undertone as the wall color. Favorite whites for ceilings include White Dove OC-17, Cloud White OC-130 and Decorator's White OC-149.

Ceilings should almost always be painted in a flat, matte acrylic paint. The reason for this is that: Flat paint will not reflect light or draw attention away from the wall and room furnishings. Ceilings don't receive much wear and tear, so a glossy, durable paint is not necessary.
The most popular type of ceiling texture is the knockdown texture. The knockdown texture is modern and helps conceal minor imperfections in the ceiling. It also adds an appearance of extra dimension to a room. What are alternatives to drywall ceilings?
Eggshell finish, perennially popular with professional and DIY painters alike, has a low-sheen reminiscent of flat or matte, but it is infinitely more durable than its namesake.
It can complement both warm and cool color palettes. Here are a few color combinations that work well with Chantilly Lace: Sea earl, Horizon, and Edgecomb Grey. Benjamin Moore's White Dove is an excellent color choice to pair with Chantilly Lace.
Although Chantilly lace is a surefire option for a bridal dress, it is always stunning for finishing your skirts, silk summer dresses or embellishing your lingerie.
Two coats. After the first coat dries, you're eager to start a second so that you don't have to experience two colors talking over each other anymore.
