It helps to use a little oil every time you cook, and to avoid using metal utensils or abrasive cleaning pads, and to avoid very high temperatures or the use of cooking sprays (which deposit something harmful to the ceramic coating) or olive oil (which can burn on).
If you happen to live near a Trader Joe's, they have propellant-free, lecithin-free avocado oil spray. The lecithin chemicals often added to spray oils to act as a propellant builds up a tacky or gummy coating on non-stick cookware, essentially ruining it.
Don't use spray oils -- We know they are convenient, but these can leave a hard-to-clean residue on your pans and can damage the ceramic coating. If you must spray, we recommend using an oil mister filled with olive oil or avocado oil.

While cooking sprays will damage your non-stick pan at best — or invalidate its warranty at worst — using thick and heavy vegetable oil isn't advisable either. This option may leave sediment that could also get in the way of a non-stick pan's coating.

Don't Use Metal Utensils
Metal utensils are typically quite abrasive, leaving permanent scratches that may not be visible to the naked eye, but which will gradually build up and destroy your pan's non stick surface.
Ceramic's main advantage over non stick is that while not all non stick cookware is PFOA-free (like if it was made prior to 2014, or recently in a country without an active ban on PFOA), all ceramic cookware is made without PFAS.
Pans with a ceramic non-stick coating are very easy to use. You only need a minimal amount of oil or butter and even then you hardly run the risk of burning food. But it does not mean these pans are completely maintenance-free.
Avoid metal utensils: While ceramic cookware is durable, it can be scratched by metal utensils. Instead, use wooden or silicone utensils to avoid damaging the surface of the cookware. Allow to cool before washing: After cooking with ceramic cookware, allow it to cool before washing it.
Though ceramic pots and pans are both durable and resistant, they can lose their nonstick coating quickly if not used properly. High temperatures, cooking sprays and rough cleaning can slowly cause the coating to deteriorate.
There can be several side effects of avocado oil. For example, it causes an allergic reaction in some cases. However, since ceramic pans—like their non stick predecessor—usually aren't heat-safe above roughly 500F (and shouldn't be held over high heat for more than a few minutes), they can't be used for deep frying, searing, or similar high heat cooking methods.
Here's why. Overheating + oils= carbonization (a.k.a. those little spots that cause your food to stick to the pan). But don't worry! You can use a melamine sponge (e.g. our Restore Sponge) to wipe them away.
Both olive oil and avocado oil are considered good fats and are an excellent source of monounsaturated fatty acids, which can help improve heart health. On the other hand, olive oil is slightly more nutritious on the whole because it contains more potassium, calcium, iron and vitamins.
