Re-keying SmartKey locks requires only three items and entails three easy steps. Users must have their functioning key, a SmartKey Learn Tool, and a new Kwikset key. First, insert the functioning key and turn it ¼-turn clockwise. Then, insert and remove the SmartKey learn tool.

Eufy gives you five physical keys - rather more than most offer, but as these are not standard keys and they need a locksmith to copy, getting a few extras makes up for that potential hassle. It does mean you can't rekey this lock to match any other exterior locks you may have.

A: SmartKey locks can only be re-keyed if you have the current functioning key and the SmartKey Learn Tool. If someone does not have the current functioning key, then that person will not be able to re-key your locks.
If you purchase a 100% keyless systems such as Yale's Assure Lock SL, you may want to keep your old door lock and keys around just incase you want to swap them back out. But certainly with this system, you're not able to rekey the lock… because there isn't one!
there is no cutting of key unless you wish to duplicate the keys that come in the kit. each kit will be unique, the chances of getting 2 identical kits are the same as buying two locks with identical keys.
Rekeying your lock is almost always cheaper than replacing a lock. This is because of the cheaper price of the key pins inside the locks, whereas when you replace a lock, you are paying for all brand-new parts.
Rekeying a lock does not hurt the security of the lock, nor does it make it more secure. One of the factors that makes a lock secure is how many pins are inside of it. As long as the locksmith swaps the old 5 pins with 5 new ones, the lock will remain just as secure as it was before.
When you rekey a lock by yourself, you will need to purchase a rekey kit that is specific to your brand of doorknob, lever, or deadbolt. You will receive several keys (often between three and six keys), all identically cut.

A word about Eufy's physical keys: The Eufy lock has an unusual curved keyhole and uses special curved keys (see below). Eufy says you can't easily copy these keys at your local Home Depot. Instead, you'll need to call a locksmith.
Although the Eufy Smart Lock does not work with Apple HomeKit, you can still similarly control all of your Eufy devices in the same place on your smartphone from the Eufy App like the HomeKit offers for their compatible products.
Kwikset smartkey locks are certified Grade 1 security for residential use by the Builders Hardware Manufacturers Association and are advertised by Kwikset as being invulnerable to being hacked with wires, screwdrivers, or anything else inserted in the keyway.
A special tool known as the "SmartKey tool" is used on the small hole to the left of the keyway. This physically disengages the sidebar and wafers from the guide pins and allows the working key to be removed. A new key can be inserted and the plug rotated back to the default position.
