To encourage lush green leaves and fuller blooms, drench the soil with an Epsom salt solution. Avoid spraying the leaves, as too much leaf contact with the salt can cause the leaves to burn in the sun.
Epsom salt can improve the blooms of flowering and green shrubs, especially evergreens, azaleas and rhododendrons. Work in one tablespoon of Ultra Epsom Salt per nine square feet of bush into the soil, over the root zone, which allows the shrubs to absorb the nutritional benefits.
Beans and leafy vegetables. Coniferous trees. Tropical palms don't like Epsom salt, either. Insect-eating plants such as Pitcher plants, sundews and Venus flytraps are other plants that do not like Epsom salt.
If you add Epsom salts to soil that already has sufficient magnesium, this can harm plants and contaminate soil. In addition, spraying Epsom salt solutions on plant leaves can also cause leaf scorch. Excess magnesium can also increase mineral contamination in water that percolates through soil.
If your soil becomes depleted of magnesium, adding Epsom salt will help and, since it poses little danger of overuse like most commercial fertilizers, you can use it safely on nearly all your garden plants.
For a general Epsom salt supplement that can be used in the garden and on houseplants, use two tablespoons of Epsom salt per gallon of water, and use this to water your plants once each month in between regular watering.
If your plant's leaves are turning yellow, it might have a sulfate deficiency. If your plant's leaves are turning yellow but the veins remain green, it might have a magnesium deficiency. Epsom salts are a great solution for both of these problems.
Prevent Fungal Disease
MAKE IT: Mix 1 teaspoon of baking soda and 2-3 drops of liquid soap in 1 liter of water. Spray the solution on the infected plants. Baking soda helps the plants become less acidic and prevents fungal growth.
Use Epsom Salt for Big Garden Yields

Because they are adapted to grow in mineral-poor and depleted soil, supplementing fertilizers with even a tiny dosage could mean death to the bug-trapping ornamentals.
Coffee grounds add organic material to the soil, helping water retention, aeration, and drainage. 'Leftover diluted coffee can create a liquid plant fertilizer, too. Simply mix two cups of brewed coffee grounds with five gallons of water in a bucket overnight. '
Epsom salt is not a fertilizer or plant food. It contains some elements that plants need, but not all of them.
A weak dose of all-purpose liquid fertilizer, once every 5-8 weeks during the growing season, will be more than enough. Also, occasional foliar spray of Epsom salt will make this plant lush and green.
Keep Your Lawn Thriving
Epsom Salt is not just a good fertilizer for flowers or vegetables. If you want your front yard turf to look lush and stay healthy all year long, spray the lawn with an Epsom Salt solution once a month. This treatment helps grass seeds germinate and develop into strong blades.
However, Epsom salt can still help a tomato plant where the soil is too alkaline or one that has been overwatered. In this way, it helps boost absorption as well as improving photosynthesis in the existing foliage.
