If used correctly, vinegar is a safe and effective tile cleaner for many tile materials including porcelain, ceramic and glass. However, do not use vinegar solutions on natural stone, travertine, wood tiles or unsealed grout, because the materials are too porous and will absorb the acid.
Allow the vinegar to sit on the tile for at least eight hours. At the end of the wait period, squeeze out the paper towels and throw them away.

For stubborn shower stains, soap scum and grime, mix one cup of warm water, two cups of white vinegar and one teaspoon of a vegetable-based dishwashing soap in a spray bottle. Spray the solution on the shower walls, let it work for 15 minutes and use a sponge to scrub off scum and grime.

To clean the inside of a still, fill the boiler with a gallon of white vinegar, attach the column, and boil for about an hour. After boiling the vinegar for an hour, carefully dump out the the vinegar. It will be HOT- we recommend using heat resistant gloves.

Cleaning with a mixture of baking soda and vinegar in the bathroom can work really well. To clean your toilet with vinegar, pour a cup of vinegar in the toilet bowl and let sit overnight. The next morning, sprinkle a little baking soda into the bowl, scrub, and then flush clean.
“Vinegar and bleach are harsh,” adds Gregg Laviolette, owner of Stone Restoration Services in Troy, Michigan. “They will etch or burn the surface of your stone.” While some chemicals may not noticeably damage durable stones such as granite, they can break down any sealers that have been applied to the stone.
You can use it to clean areas around your home, including your hardwood floors. The reason behind this is that vinegar often helps break down the floor wax due to its acidity. The key is to know how to use it. If you don't use vinegar properly, then you could end up damaging your floors.
