If you find that you install your roller shade the wrong way, switching from a reverse roll roller shade to a standard roll — or vice versa — is easy. Simply detach the tube from the brackets, flip it around to the right orientation, and reinstall it into the brackets.
Roller blinds can be hung in one of two ways: a standard roll or a reverse roll. The standard roll is the most common, with the fabric rolling out from the top tube and away from the window. The reverse roll has the fabric rolling down from the top tube and closer to the window.
Both rolling the blind over and under are ok/can be done/don't look awful or incorrect and will roll with perfect functionality and no issues, but the “standard roll” option is the norm or default, and the “reverse roll” option is less common/generally undertaken only upon request and for specific reasons.
This is straightforward enough to do at home by yourself. Unroll the blind until you can see the fabric attached to the barrel and then begin to turn the barrel in the opposite direction. This will roll the fabric so that it hangs over the barrel on the opposite side.
However, if you change your mind after the fact, you can easily switch the side your chain is on without any professional intervention! If you have a standard roller blind, the first step is removing the blind from its brackets and swapping the brackets around on the wall.
The way a roller blind rolls and hangs depends on how the blind is initially assembled. The blinds fabric is attached to an inner tube, and the fabric is either initially rolled forward and over the tube, or rolled backward and under the tube.
Your other option is called a reverse roll. With this style, the shade fabric will wrap over the top roll and hang in front of your window like a waterfall.
Remember that upward facing blinds do best when you are “up” and awake during the daytime hours; downward facing blinds are best when you are “down” and ready to go to sleep during the nighttime hours.
So what is a bottom up roller blind? Well, it's basically an upside down roller blind. It's fixed to the window/sill/recess and is rolled upwards.

When the blinds are turned up, the rounded side faces outward. Blinds turned in this direction offer more privacy and light control since the convex side faces the window, blocking light or views from the outside.

There are two ways to switch the direction of your roller blind. The first and most straightforward solution is to take the roller blind out of the brackets, flip them around, and put them back in. But be warned, this also changes whether you see the front or back of the fabric.

The brightest light and UV rays come in a downward angle directly from the sun. If your goal is controlling light but not closing your blinds completely, then the best option is to turn the slats up. Completely closing blinds in the upward position is also the preferred direction for the maximum room darkening effect.
