Steam cleaning is intended for tile, linoleum, and vinyl floors, and if done on a wooden floor, it may leave the floor looking dull. Avoid it. f) Never use ammonia, alkaline products, or any other abrasive cleaners on your wooden floors. g) Do not drag furniture or heavy objects across your finished wooden surface.
The adhesive used in the manufacture of Rug Gripper is water-based, which makes it safe for use on all types of flooring. If there is ever a situation where any residue is left after the strips are removed, it can be easily cleaned with a citrus based cleaner or wood cleaner (for hardwood floors).
While construction adhesive does have its own benefits, it might not be the best solution when installing hardwood floors. Construction adhesive is a great product to use when you want to permanently fuse two pieces of material together. It creates a strong and rigid bond. However, wood floors move.
Urethane adhesives typically are recommended when gluing down solid tropical hardwood species and solid bamboo, including vertical, horizontal, and strand since they generally are moisture-sensitive. Water-based acrylic and solvent-based adhesives also are available on the market.
Construction adhesives and wood glues can sometimes be mistaken to be substitutable with one another. In hindsight, wood glues may sound like they are used exclusively on wood, but they could be used on other surfaces too. On the other hand, construction adhesives can also be applied on wood but not in every case.

Bona Polish is NOT a hardwood floor cleaner. It is a cheap thin finish that you apply to your floors. Over time and repeated use the film gets thicker and it scuffs and scratches easily making the floors look unsightly. The only remedy to restore your floors is to strip the Bona Polish off.
Do not wet mop wood flooring. Damp is good. Dripping wet is bad. If you can ring out the mop or pad, you're working with too much water.

A rug with plastic or artificial rubber backing contains glue or adhesives, and unfortunately these are harsh on hardwood floors. They can scratch and ruin the wood, incurring damage costs.
Using a rubber-backed mat, a mat with a claw backing, Teebaud Premium Anti-Slip Mat and Rug Underlay, or a fitted mat are all great options. Well-mats are highly effective but are more expensive. Double-sided tape is a cheap option, but is only a short-term solution, and can leave residue on floors.
By adding rugs to your hardwood floors, you not only enhance the aesthetic appeal of your rooms but also provide a layer of protection to your floors. Rugs help to prevent scratches and scuffs caused by foot traffic or furniture movement. They also add warmth to your space, making it feel more cozy and inviting.
Green Frog Tape is the best choice for daily painting needs. This multi-surface painter's tape works across the largest variety of different tasks. Green Frog Tape has medium tack (slightly less than typical painter's tape), and is safe on most surfaces.
The 'Multi Surface' Frog Tape is a quality masking tape. For most surfaces, it can be removed easily and leaves no gummy residue. An excellent material to use for masking and creating clean edges.
DON'T: Do not use anything with ammonia in it to clean your wood floors. Stay away from wax based products, acrylic finishes, detergents, bleaches, polishes, oil soaps, and vinegar. Instead, get a hardwood cleaning solution (you can pick them up at any big hardware store), spray it on a dust mop and go to town.
