MeteoEarth is an app developed by MeteoGroup that allows users to navigate a 3D globe at the touch of a button to view weather across the globe. Features available include precipitation, temperature, wind, cloud clover, pressure systems, a storm tracker, and webcams from across the world.
Check accurate Atmospheric pressure and Altitude wherever you are! Barometer and Altimeter is a simple application for measuring atmospheric pressure and altitude.
NOAA Extreme Weather Information Sheet (NEWIS).
This app, created by NOAA's National Centers for Environmental Information, offers the popular NOAA Extreme Weather Information Sheet.
The barometric pressure is 30.11 - measured by inches of mercury - and is rising since its last observation.
Navver allows you to navigate with live weather data as you drive.
Thanks but Google Maps ands Waze do not currently have weather overlays despite being a long-requested feature, as discussed in this thread.
On most devices you will press your apps button from the homescreen, then select the widgets tab from the top right. Then look in the list for NOAA Weather. On older devices, widgets are added by long pressing on the homescreen and selecting widgets.
Obtain barometric pressure directly from your own mercury barometer. If you are using an aneroid barometer (typically have a tightly coiled spring), make sure it has been adjusted to read true uncorrected barometric pressure. If it is corrected, you need to UNcorrect it, Otherwise you can use it as is.
People are most comfortable with barometric pressure of 30 inches of mercury (inHg). When it rises to 30.3 inHg or higher, or drops to 29.7 or lower, the risk of heart attack increases. A barometric reading over 30.20 inHg is generally considered high, and high pressure is associated with clear skies and calm weather.
If you are a subscriber to AccuWeatherStation.com Premium, the nearest pressure reading will be shown on your home page under "Nearest Official Observation." Note the time of the reading and whether the pressure is Falling, Rising, or Steady.
AccuWeather gathers the best and most comprehensive weather data to deliver forecasts with Superior Accuracy. Forecasts are pinpointed for every location on Earth and extend further ahead than any other source.
With Weather Live°, planning your day-to-day activities is easier than ever before: simply choose the weather parameters you want to track, which layout you prefer, and view your customized weather forecast!
Most modern smartphones have built-in barometers that you can use for the same purpose. Phone manufacturers include barometers to improve GPS elevation results because they can be adversely affected by atmospheric pressure.
A barometer measures atmospheric pressure in units of measurement called atmospheres or bars. An atmosphere (atm) is a unit of measurement equal to the average air pressure at sea level at a temperature of 15 degrees Celsius (59 degrees Fahrenheit).
The zone between 29.8 and 30.2 is shown as the area for best fishing. This barometer also says that better fishing occurs when the barometer is rising than when it is falling. Veteran anglers would agree that most every species of fish are more active when the barometer is steady or only slightly changing.
The ideal barometric pressure typically falls between 29 and 31 inHg. This barometric pressure is comfortable for most people and will possibly allow them to live with less joint pain, especially if the area they reside in does not fluctuate rapidly throughout the day or week with barometric pressure readings.
A rise in barometric pressure is generally considered an improvement in the weather or clear skies, while low barometric pressure may mean worsening weather, and rain or snow, within a day or two.
They have high precision but relatively lower absolute accuracy than table-top barometers. Specifically, the accuracy in measuring absolute pressure is low in these sensors, but their relative pressure accuracy is shown to be as low as ± 1.2 Pa [84,85], with average mobile devices having a resolution of ± 12 Pa [28].
The lowest sea-level air pressure ever recorded was 870 mb (25.69 in. Hg) measured on October 12, 1979 in the eye of Typhoon Tip as it moved over Guam. Weather Fact: While the air pressure reading in Typhoon Tip was the lowest recorded, the air pressures inside tornadoes are no doubt lower.
Bubbles in the center of the coffee cup have been known to indicate high pressure, which results in good, fair weather. Whereas when the bubbles move quickly to the outer edge of the cup, that might mean we are under an area of low pressure, which results in unsettled conditions like rain.
For short term forecasts, or forecasts for about 7 hours in the future, the Met Office was actually the most accurate, followed by Apple Weather, The Weather Channel, AccuWeather, and finally BBC Weather in order from most to least accurate. The best overall daily forecaster was The Weather Channel.
If you are within the coverage area of a tower that receives the warning, your cell phone will emit a sound, and the message will appear on your screen. NOAA Weather Radio is a Service of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) of the U. S. Department of Commerce.
